Andover High's varsity girls soccer team put six goals past Lawrence in the first 22 minutes Thursday, Sept. 17, rolling to a 6-0 Merrimack Valley Conference win.

Maddie Gorecki set the tone early. She scored in the fourth minute and again in the seventh to stake the Golden Warriors to a 2-0 lead. Four teammates followed in rapid succession.

Nina Kinley made it 3-0 in the ninth minute. Ella Halpin pushed the margin to four in the 12th. Casey Kneeland scored in the 15th, and Cora Henderson capped the barrage in the 22nd minute to complete the shutout.

Five of the six scorers tallied their goals within an 11-minute stretch. Gorecki was the only player to score twice.

The Eagle-Tribune's preseason MVC preview noted Andover returns veterans this fall but only three starters from 2025. Sophomores Hannah Lee and Catherine Stempean were among the returning underclassmen expected to step into bigger roles.

Against Lawrence, the depth showed. Six different players found the net in a single half.

Andover High Principal Jimmy D'Andrea live-tweeted the match, posting video of each goal as it happened.

The Warriors have recent postseason pedigree. Last fall, Andover's girls soccer team reached the MIAA Division 1 tournament and beat Woburn in overtime in the Round of 64. They advanced to face Needham in the Round of 32.

Thursday's 6-0 result came with the bulk of the damage done before the 23rd minute, leaving the second half as extended playing time for the roster.

Andover's next MVC opponent and game date had not been announced as of Sept. 18.
