Democrat Dan Koh is running for Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District seat in the Nov. 3, 2026, election. Republican Micah Quinney Jones is also listed in the official state candidate roster.
Koh grew up in Andover and served on its Select Board. His campaign biography lists senior Biden administration roles, service as chief of staff to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh and Boston Mayor Walsh, and undergraduate and business degrees from Harvard.
Healthcare
Koh’s healthcare platform supports automatic enrollment in Medicare for All while preserving a private insurance option. He also calls for restoring enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies and lowering prescription-drug costs. The page does not provide a financing estimate or implementation timetable.
Housing
His housing proposals include expanding the low-income housing tax credit, easing permitting while maintaining environmental protection and working with state and local officials on housing supply. He supports smaller housing options so older residents can downsize within their communities.
These changes could affect housing investment and insurance costs in the district, but the campaign materials do not quantify local savings. Local zoning changes would require action by the relevant state or municipal authorities.
Other priorities and authority
Koh’s issues platform also emphasizes unions, climate preparedness, reproductive rights, gun safety and transportation. A House member can propose laws, vote on federal funding and conduct oversight. Major policy changes would require support from Congress and the president.
The Andover Ledger did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
