Diana DiZoglio, a Democrat, is seeking reelection as Massachusetts state auditor in the Nov. 3, 2026, election. The official candidate list also includes Libertarian Al Ozonoff.
Background
DiZoglio previously served in the Massachusetts House and Senate. Her campaign biography also describes experience as a small-business owner and nonprofit project manager.
Transparency and spending oversight
DiZoglio identifies government transparency and accountability as central goals. Her campaign website publishes an audit plan covering state contracting, pay equity, public programs and access to government services.
That page includes language from before she became auditor. Its proposed reviews should not be read as a list of newly announced 2026 initiatives or proof that each review has been completed.
Her effort to audit the Legislature has remained a point of legal and political dispute. Axios reported in May that she agreed to narrow an initial records request while continuing to pursue broader oversight. The existence of an audit proposal does not establish unrestricted access to legislative records.
What the auditor can do
The auditor’s office conducts audits, investigations and studies intended to improve government accountability and performance. Its work also includes public-benefit fraud investigations and analysis of local-government financial mandates.
For local residents, that work can show how public money is spent and whether programs meet their obligations. The auditor reports findings and recommendations; the office does not independently enact taxes, appropriate program funding or implement every recommended change.
The Andover Ledger did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
