Andover families have one more shot at a week of Celtics basketball this summer.
The Jr. Celtics Academy is bringing its third and final camp session to Phillips Academy, 180 Main St., running Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21, according to the town's event calendar. The five-day program, presented by New Balance, is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 14 at all skill levels. Registration is open now.
Camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Cost is $399 per session plus a transaction fee.
The first two sessions, which ran Aug. 3–7 and Aug. 10–14, have already wrapped. The Aug. 17 week is the last opportunity for local kids to get on the court through the program this summer.
Players are grouped by ability — novice, intermediate and advanced — and spend the days in on-court games, drills and structured competition designed to build skills in an inclusive environment. Jr. Celtics Academy, the Boston Celtics' official youth basketball program, operates camps across New England that are licensed by local boards of health and comply with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations. The program does not discriminate based on race, color, gender, gender identity, disability, religion, sexual orientation or national or ethnic origin.
Each camper receives a co-branded New Balance and Jr. Celtics jersey. Campers also receive an exclusive backpack during their first week of attendance.
