North Andover's girls cross country team claimed all 10 individual finishing spots in a 15-50 rout of Methuen on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Freshman Dylann Demmons led the Scarlet Knights across the line first as North Andover opened its Merrimack Valley Conference dual-meet season at Methuen.
In cross country scoring, the lowest team total wins. A 15-50 result means the Knights' five scoring runners finished in the top five positions. Their sixth through 10th runners filled every remaining spot ahead of Methuen's first finisher.
That kind of 1-through-10 sweep is rare at any level. It requires depth across the entire roster, not just a few fast frontrunners.
The boys team made it a clean North Andover afternoon. Junior Liam Rand paced a 1-2-3 finish as the Knights topped the Rangers 19-42, according to the program's account on X.
Rand, a third-year runner, gave North Andover an early lead that the rest of the pack extended. The 1-2-3 sweep at the front put the meet out of reach before Methuen's first runner crossed.
The North Andover cross country program posted both results on X shortly after the meet, tagging the girls' race as the Knights' season opener.
The girls matched their September 2025 result against Methuen, when the Knights also won 15-50. Julia Kroon led North Andover in that race. On the boys side, Brogan Zwinggi led a 15-48 win over the Rangers last fall.
Both meets were scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start, according to Valley Sports Daily.
North Andover's next scheduled meet had not been announced as of Thursday, Sept. 17.
