North Andover's Dave Condurelli saved his best golf for when it mattered most.

The 66-year-old shot a final-round 75 on Sunday to finish second in the Legends Division at the 2026 Joseph F. Healey Memorial Golf Championship, one of the Merrimack Valley's premier amateur tournaments. Condurelli finished with a 54-hole total of 240 after rounds of 81, 84 and 75, climbing into the runner-up spot behind division champion Peter Beaulieu (230).

The tournament was played July 17-19, with the opening two rounds at Bradford Country Club and the final round at Haverhill Country Club.

Condurelli's nine-stroke improvement from Saturday to Sunday proved to be the difference. His closing round moved him ahead of Peter Lucier (242) and capped the strongest competitive golf performance of his career.

A Lawrence native and 1978 Central Catholic graduate, Condurelli told the Andover Townsman he still thinks of himself as a baseball and softball player first. After more than four decades on the diamond, he now balances a full-time job with weekend rounds of golf.

Before the tournament, Eagle-Tribune Sports Editor Bill Burt wrote on X that Condurelli was "probably playing the best golf of his life."

The Healey Memorial annually attracts many of the region's top amateur golfers. Joe Leavitt claimed the overall championship with a six-under-par 64 in the final round, finishing at 210 to earn his third Healey Memorial title. Three-time defending champion Nick Maccario did not compete this year.
