Students in grades 2 through 5 can mix up "Elephant Toothpaste" and learn about women who shaped modern science at Stevens Memorial Library's new Girls in STEM series, which held its first session Tuesday, July 21, at the North Andover library.
The free program runs noon to 2 p.m. and pairs a lesson on the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering, and math with a hands-on experiment connected to a real-world problem. The series is open to all children in the grade range, according to the library's event listing.
The July 21 session is the first of multiple meetings planned through August 2026, according to a Stevens Memorial Library Facebook post that described it as "meeting 1." Specific dates for future sessions have not been posted to the library's public calendar.
