Andover's 250th Anniversary Committee meets Thursday, Oct. 15, to debrief on RevFest 250 and discuss its presence at the ACE Scarecrow Festival kickoff two days later.

The committee's agenda lists three items of regular business for the 2 p.m. session in the Select Board Room at 36 Bartlet St. The first: the committee's table at the Andover Coalition for Education (ACE) Scarecrow Festival kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon in front of Old Town Hall.

The festival runs through Oct. 31.

The 2026 Scarecrow Festival theme is "Sowing Seeds of Liberty: 250 Years of Bold Ideas," tying it to the town's anniversary programming. ACE said on Instagram that the kickoff will feature scarecrow scavenger hunt forms, cocoa and treats.

The committee will also debrief on RevFest 250, the day-long celebration held Saturday, Oct. 3, at The Park on Bartlet Street. The Andover Townsman reported that the town "turned back the clock 250 years" at the event, which featured Revolutionary-era artisan crafts, reenactors and live music. The Andover Center for History and Culture co-sponsored the event.

Committee member RJ Johnson had led planning for a drone light show, budgeted at roughly $10,000 for 100 to 200 drones, according to the committee's Aug. 6 meeting minutes. A September preview from Patch described the show as Andover's first-ever 300-drone display. No post-event source has confirmed whether the drone show took place as planned.

The Andover Select Board unanimously approved one-day liquor licenses for Mill River Winery and Oak & Iron Brewing Co. for RevFest at its Sept. 14 meeting, according to board minutes.

Chair Susan McCready has led the committee, which has met regularly since at least June 2026. Thursday's agenda also includes approval of minutes from the Sept. 24 and Oct. 1 meetings. Residents who need accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act can contact the Town Manager's Office at 978-623-8210.

The Scarecrow Festival kickoff Saturday, Oct. 17, at Old Town Hall is the next public event on the 250th anniversary calendar.
