Costumed kids can collect candy from downtown Andover shops three days before Halloween.

The town's downtown trick-or-treating event returns Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., according to Andover News and the town's community events calendar. Children can wear their costumes and visit participating businesses in downtown Andover. Trick-or-treaters will also be greeted in front of Old Town Hall.

The town has not released a list of which businesses are taking part. Residents with questions about the event can contact Ann Ormond at [email protected].

The downtown celebration gives families an early round of trick-or-treating ahead of Andover's official townwide hours on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.
