Andover residents looking to clear out old TVs, dead laptops, and dusty appliances can haul them to St. Augustine Parish on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, where Green Day Recycling will accept the lot for fees ranging from free to $40.
The drive-through event runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 43 Essex St. in downtown Andover. No appointment is needed. Residents pull up, hand off their items, and drive away while Green Day Recycling handles sorting and responsible disposal, according to the company's website.
Green Day Recycling, a family-owned Massachusetts company founded by Jim Wood, was named 2025 MassRecycle Business of the Year. His son Brian Wood now serves as director of operations, running drive-through collection events at churches, schools, and nonprofits statewide.
What it costs
The event accepts all electronics, appliances, and anything with a plug or batteries, as well as reusable bicycles, according to the Andover Townsman. Fees are tiered by item size:
Free — Cellphones, tablets, keyboards, bicycles, video game media, wires, cables, chargers, car and truck batteries, DVDs
- $5 — Laptops, DVD players, VCRs, small printers, stereos, radios, alarm clocks, speakers, video game consoles
- $10 — Small household appliances, vacuum cleaners, toaster ovens, ceiling fans, floor lamps, air fryers
- $20 — Flat-screen computer monitors, microwaves, air conditioners, water coolers, dehumidifiers
- $30 — TVs 26–35 inches, washing machines, dryers, stoves, dishwashers
- $35 — Large refrigerators, ride-on lawn mowers, TVs over 36 inches
- $40 — Projection televisions
The company also offers secure data destruction. Hard drives are physically destroyed on site, and certificates of data destruction are available on request, according to Green Day Recycling's website.
