Two local beverage makers are staffing the beer and wine garden at Andover's free Wednesday-night concert series this summer, after the season opener at Pomp's Pond drew more than 1,000 people in June.

Oak and Iron Brewing Co., at 18 Red Spring Road in Andover, and Marble Ridge Winery, at 11 Marbleridge Road in North Andover, hold the pouring licenses for the town's Concerts in the Park series, also called "Sounds of Summer" by the Andover Townsman. The garden sits to the side of the gazebo and behind the general seating area at The Park, located at Chestnut and Bartlet streets.

The Andover Select Board approved wine and malt beverage licenses for both vendors this spring. Oak and Iron owner Jim Cass received a 5-0 vote on Thursday, April 9, after Recreation Director Joe Connelly and Assistant Recreation Director Jeff Newman described the brewery's multi-year presence at the concerts as positive. Marble Ridge owner Brig Leland won the same unanimous approval on Tuesday, April 14, for what he told the board would be his second year working alongside Cass at the events.

"The event seems to grow and the logistics become more refined each year," Select Board member Alex Vispoli said at the April 9 meeting.

The first concert of the 2026 season, held Wednesday, June 17, at Pomp's Pond on Abbot Street, drew more than 1,000 attendees, according to Town Manager Andrew Flanagan's report at the Monday, June 29, Select Board meeting. The series then moved to The Park for the remaining Wednesday nights, where the beer and wine garden operates under the same licenses.

The free concerts run 6 to 8 p.m. in June and July and shift to 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in August. Thursday nights serve as rain dates. Each week also features mini golf, Jenga, cornhole, and face painting for families, along with local food trucks.

Five Wednesday concerts remain through August 26, closing with Silver Springs, a Fleetwood Mac tribute act. The full schedule is available on the town's calendar at andoverma.gov.
