Two men who held up a North Andover jewelry store at gunpoint in July 2025 pleaded guilty Monday, Sept. 28, in Essex County Superior Court in Salem.

Yire Abreu, 25, of Bronx, New York, was sentenced to 10 to 12 years in prison, first reported by the Eagle-Tribune. Wilfred Mordan, 23, of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to seven years. Both received three years of probation.

Each defendant pleaded guilty to armed and masked robbery, five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm during a felony. They also pleaded guilty to carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a large-capacity feeding device and possessing a loaded firearm.

The robbery took place July 3, 2025, at Milos Joyeria in North Andover, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office. Abreu and Mordan walked into the store wearing masks and threatened employees and customers at gunpoint, the DA's office said.

The two men then fled the store and switched getaway vehicles, according to Patch. They led police on a chase down Route 125 in North Andover and onto I-495 in Lawrence. Officers eventually caught up with them and made arrests.

Abreu's sentence is the longer of the two. His 10-to-12-year prison term is followed by three years of probation. Mordan faces seven years in prison and the same probation period.

Both defendants' probation terms require them to stay away from the victims and the jewelry store. They must also seek and maintain employment, the DA's office said.

The case is not fully closed.

The Essex County DA's office said other defendants alleged to have been involved in the robbery are also facing charges. No court dates for those cases have been announced.
