Residents on Burtt Road and several surrounding streets should prepare for discolored tap water Saturday morning as the Andover Water Division conducts fire flow testing.
The testing begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at 30 Burtt Road, according to a notice posted on the town's website Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Water may turn brown or discolored during and after the test in the areas of Burtt Road, Connector Road, River Street and Lowell Junction Road, the town said.
The Water Division's advice: run cold-water faucets or outdoor spigots until the water clears.
Previous testing in 2026
The Andover Water Division conducted similar Saturday fire flow testing on April 18 at two other locations: 470 River Road and 140 Haverhill Street. Those tests affected neighborhoods along River Road, Fiske Street, Bailey Road, Haverhill Street, High Street and several surrounding streets. The same guidance about running cold-water faucets was issued for those April tests.
Saturday's test affects a different part of town, near the Lowell Junction Road area.

Residents in the affected area who notice discolored water Saturday should run their cold-water faucet or an outdoor spigot until the water runs clear.
