Andover firefighters used extrication tools to pry open the rear door of an overturned vehicle and free two people trapped inside after a two-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of North Main and Harding streets on Thursday evening, July 23.

Police, firefighters and paramedics all responded to the scene, according to Andover News. One patient was transported by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital. The patient's condition was not available.

The crash closed the intersection while police diverted traffic around the scene and waited for the vehicles to be removed.

Cyclist hospitalized after hitting pothole

In another incident, emergency crews responded to the area of Stoke Court on Thursday, July 23, after a 66-year-old man crashed his bicycle when he struck a pothole. The cyclist made his way to a nearby residence before calling for help.

Police requested a detective respond to photograph the scene before darkness fell. The man was transported to a hospital for evaluation. His condition was not available.

Separate rollover in North Andover

North Andover firefighters responded to a three-vehicle rollover crash at 1043 Turnpike St. on Friday morning, July 24, at 8:10 a.m. A van driver was trapped after two vehicles overturned. Firefighters used rescue struts and removed the windshield to free the driver.

Both drivers of the overturned vehicles were taken to local hospitals with apparent minor injuries, according to a Patch report. North Andover Fire Chief John Weir commended crews and thanked Middleton Fire Department and Lawrence General Hospital Paramedic Intercept 2 for their assistance.
