Andover's Lucy Adams is heading to the biggest stage in international field hockey.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, becoming one of 20 players selected to represent Team USA when the tournament opens Aug. 15 in Belgium and the Netherlands.

For Adams, the honor caps a rapid rise through the national program. After making her senior debut against New Zealand in 2025, she has earned 15 international caps and helped the United States capture a silver medal at the 2025 Pan American Cup.

Adams, a Brooks School graduate and Brown University standout, has built one of the most decorated careers in Brown field hockey history. She became the program's first two-time First Team All-American and earned First Team All-Ivy honors three times.

Field hockey is also a family tradition. Her mother played the sport at Brown, while her father starred in lacrosse for the Bears.

The U.S. returns to the World Cup for the first time since 2018. Team USA enters the tournament ranked No. 12 in the world and will open play on Aug. 15.

Before she represents her country, Adams will return to Brown for her senior season, which begins Aug. 27 against the University of British Columbia.
