Merrimack College women's soccer has lost four one-goal games in Metro Conference play and sits 0-4-2 through six league matches, still searching for its first conference win of the season.

The Warriors (2-7-3 overall) have been close. Four of those six results were decided by a single goal, and senior forward Bella Keogh has kept Merrimack in the fight with three conference goals.

Head coach Gabe Mejail's squad opened league play Sept. 5 at Marist, where Ella Bryan's 28th-minute penalty kick proved the only goal in a 1-0 loss, as The Beacon reported. On Sept. 12, the Warriors earned their first conference point in a 0-0 draw against Saint Peter's at Martone-Mejail Field in North Andover.

Then came three straight one-goal losses. At Iona on Sept. 19, Ava Barker and Dolene Smith scored within two minutes to build a 2-0 lead before Keogh pulled one back in the 66th minute off an assist from Liv Campbell.

At Quinnipiac on Sept. 23, Anna Bean gave the Bobcats the lead in the 59th minute. Lilly Cook equalized for Merrimack in the 65th minute with help from Lucia Antonucci. Morgan Cupo's 83rd-minute goal gave Quinnipiac a 2-1 win.

Against Rider on Sept. 30 at home, Ava DeGeorge scored twice in the second half. Keogh answered in the 89th minute off a Daniela Almeida assist, but the Warriors fell 2-1.

Merrimack's most recent conference match came Saturday, Oct. 3, on Senior Day against Manhattan. The Jaspers' Olivia McMaster scored in the third minute. Keogh equalized in the 21st minute off an assist from her sister, Sophia Keogh, according to the official box score. That goal was the 25th of Bella Keogh's career, extending her own program record, according to Merrimack Athletics.

Goalkeeper Addison Israel matched her season high with nine saves in the 1-1 draw. Manhattan outshot Merrimack 23-9.

Seven seniors were honored before the Manhattan match: Emily McCabe, Abby Tober, Emily Webb, Sofia Gialanella, Bella Keogh, Sophia Keogh and Shea MacDougall.

Keogh leads the team with six goals this season. Earlier in the year, a 2-1 comeback win over Bryant on Aug. 30 gave Mejail his 500th career victory as Merrimack's head coach, according to The Beacon.

The Warriors travel to Fairfield on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. They return to Martone-Mejail Field to host Sacred Heart on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. (ESPN+), Canisius on Saturday, Oct. 17, at noon and Siena on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.
