North Andover will unveil a new memorial honoring veterans of the Global War on Terror and late 20th century conflicts on Friday, Sept. 11, the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The dedication ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Patriots Memorial Park. North Andover VFW Post 2104 organized the project in partnership with Veterans Services for North Andover and Boxford.

Jeffrey Clark of VFW Post 2104 launched a GoFundMe campaign to help fund the memorial. Donations are still needed. The Massachusetts FY2026 state budget included at least $25,000 for the creation of a Sept. 11 memorial at Patriots Memorial Park, according to state budget records.

In a video update posted to Facebook, Jeff, the commander of VFW Post 2104, walked through the site at Patriots Memorial Park and shared progress on the project. North Andover CAM produced a Journal Update video on Aug. 18 detailing the memorial's history and ceremony plans.

The memorial honors service members who served during conflicts including operations in Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf, Somalia, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. VFW Post 2104 has a long track record of organizing veterans events in town, including the annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony and Wreaths Across America at Ridgewood Cemetery.
