More than 135 Merrimack Valley children got to attend summer camp last year thanks to scholarships from the Merrimack Valley YMCA — and the fundraiser that makes it possible tees off Aug. 10 at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover.

Scholarships send kids from families who couldn't otherwise afford it to three YMCA camps: overnight Camp Lawrence and Camp Nokomis on Lake Winnipesaukee for ages 8-16, and day Camp Otter in Salem, N.H., for ages 6-13. Hundreds of children attend these camps each summer, part of a Merrimack Valley YMCA camping tradition that's run for more than a century.

Registration is $250 per golfer or $1,000 for a foursome, covering 18 holes on the private course, lunch, a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start, dinner, raffles, contests and driving range access. Sign up at MVYMCA.org.

Watts Water Technologies is the title sponsor, with Rockland Trust, Borislow Insurance, Howe Insurance Agency, Knollmeyer Building Corp., Leader Bank and R.C. Lafond Insurance also backing the event.
